Great to see this interest in visualizing health promotion. As the
presentation shows, very powerful applications are available.
One point I would like to add is the contribution of good visual
representations for empowering community participation in decision making.
Often the relationships are clearer than words or tables.
The Prevent Stroke site in the link below is one of the first to apply GIS
for assisting people looking for resources near their postal code.
Adminstrative reports in this web application use GIS for coverage analysis.
As the Candace Nykiforuk's presentation shows, adding additional layers of
data (demographic, service, discharge, etc.) contributes tremendously to
analysis and understanding of needs and capacities.
