Tenure Track Position in Public Policy (Social Policy)
The Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra
University invites applications for one tenure track position in Public
Policy (Social Policy) to begin in September 2006.

The Pompeu Fabra University is a fifteen-year-old public university in
Barcelona that focuses primarily on social sciences.

The University's Department of Political and Social Sciences has an
extensive research and teaching program (at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels) in public and social policy, with several major
national and international research programs on different dimensions of the
welfare states of developed capitalist countries. It focuses on Europe but
also covers other continents, including North America, Latin America, and
Asia. Great emphasis is placed on comparative social policy, political
economy, and political analysis of the welfare state.

All applicants must submit a current curriculum vitae, a sample of
professional writings and a statement of research and teaching interests.
PhD should be at hand or expected by time of employment. Fluent knowledge
of Spanish is required, although the graduate courses could be taught in
English. For full consideration, all materials supporting an application
must be received no later than April 9th, 2006

Candidates should be able to teach fundamental courses in Public Policy
(Social Policy). We will particularly value the candidate’s experience in
teaching and commitment to excellence in research and teaching; as well as
the candidate’s ability to participate in the Department’s collective and
intellectual life.

Send applications TO: Ms. Carme Casanovas, Department de Ciencies
Politiques i Socials, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Ramon Trias Fargas, 25-27
