NEW REPORT FROM THE ALBERTA CENTRE FOR ACTIVE LIVING

Understanding Reported Rates of Physical Activity: Comparing the Results of
the Alberta Survey on Physical Activity
(http://www.centre4activeliving.ca/publications/physact_survey/pa_rates_repo
rt/Full_PASurvReport_Final.pdf)

Two recent major surveys examined physical activity levels in Alberta:

- the 2002 Alberta Survey on Physical Activity (Alberta Centre for Active
Living, 2002) reported that 57% of Albertans were active;

- the 2002 Canadian Community Health Survey (Statistics Canada, 2006)
reported that 52% of Albertans were at least moderately active.

The new report looks at the main reasons for the different survey results.
An Executive Summary is also included
(http://www.centre4activeliving.ca/publications/physact_survey/pa_rates_repo
rt/PASurv_Executive_Summary.pdf).
