Hello Marie-Claude Jean,

I was not familiar with "knowledge absorptive capacity" as a subject, and wondered if it was related to "knowledge transfer" or "Knowledge translation". There is a recent report that has been published by IDRC on Knowledge Translation, which was referred to today in the English version of E-Watch on Innovation in Health Services Online [from KUUC May 1, 2006]
You can access E-watch on innovation in health services online at:

Knowledge Translation - Basic Theories, Approaches and Applications
IDRC - Prepared by Anne-Marie Schryer-Roy, October 2005
http://www.idrc.ca/uploads/user-S/11303578541Knowledge_Translation_-_Basic_Theories,_Approaches_and_Applications.pdf
The document presents an overview of recent approaches and strategies aimed at increasing the linkages between research and decision making processes. It looks both at the basic theories of, and approaches to, knowledge translation, as well as at its applications, with a particular emphasis on the health sector.

However, I also used a very useful scholarly search engine offered by Elsevier called Scirus (www.scirus.com) to search for the exact phrase of "knowledge absorptive capacity". It came back with 6 journal results, including two articles in European Management Journal, in April 2003 on "Reconceiving Change Management - A knowledge-based perspective" and one in June 2005 on "Knowledge Sharing in an Emerging Network of Practice". It also seems that the following article might be applicable:
Contractor, Farok J.; Ra, Wonchan (2002). "How knowledge attributes influence alliance governance choices: A theory development note". Journal of International Management. 8(1) pp. 11-27.
You might find those articles (possibly available through your university), or other 120 results to fit your needs.

Please let us know more about what you are looking for - the organizational management connection looks fascinating!

Alison

Subject: [CLICK4HP] Knowledge absorptive capacity

I'm looking for informations about knowledge absorptive capacity in a
multidisciplinary context. It will be really appreciate if someone
could give me some cues to find references about this subject.

Thank you.

Marie-Claude Jean
