Over the past year, 20 agencies in Waterloo Region have produced a video discussing the "Ten Essentials Children Need" for healthy development.
.. Adequate family income
.. Plenty of nutritious food
.. Safe, affordable housing
.. Options for quality child care
.. Education opportunities for the child to reach full potential
.. Recreation opportunities, including creative play time
.. Regular medical and dental care
.. Safety from abuse and violence
.. Ability to spent sufficient time with parents
.. Respect from adults
