The outage to upgrade the electrical transformer servicing the Steacie
building was successfully completed with all services resumed on
schedule.

A few hours of queued spam ended up not being tagged, but there were no
other issues.

Subject: MAJOR COMPUTING SERVICES OUTAGE: Saturday June 10th at 19:00 until
    Sunday June 11th at 08:00

*****  PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY *****

Please note that there will be an outage affecting most York University
computing services starting on Saturday June 10th at 19:00 lasting
until Sunday June 11th at 08:00.

The purpose of this outage is to upgrade the electrical transformer
servicing the Steacie building.

Central systems that will be affected include:
- Networking within the Steacie building will be unavailable.
- The central email system will continue to receive email, but will not
be accessible to end users.
- The main York University web site will only respond with outage
information.
- ACADLABS will be unavailable.
- Passport York and all Passport York-authenticated applications will be
unavailable.
- AirYork Wireless network access will be unavailable.

CNS is making every effort to ensure building networks, ResNet and
Internet connectivity (outside Steacie), as well as telephone service will
NOT be affected.
