The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is currently researching the
area of urban and/or rural land-use planning and policy development as
it relates to individual and population health.   We are currently
conducting a literature review focused on the three following topic
areas:

*	evidence related to how various aspects of urban and/or rural
land-use planning and policy development contributes to and/or
negatively impacts individual and population health;
*	the role that public health currently plays and could play in
urban and/or rural land-use planning and policy development; and 
*	best practices for influencing municipal decision makers.

That being said, we are researching what other health units/departments
or other public health organizations/groups have done in this area, such
as literature reviews, environmental scans, background reports, etc.
