I was wondering whether any of you are members, or have any insights into
the Conference Board of Canada's new executive network called the Roundtable
on Socio-Economic Determinants of Health? Here is an exerpt from their
website:

Background
This new executive network will bring together national leaders in the
health, education, social services, economics, corrections, Aboriginal, and
policing sub-sectors to examine the issues related to social and economic
determinants of health. Provincial and federal government ministries will
help lead a participant group that will consist of many social and health
related sub-sectors. The intent is to conduct research that will examine the
conditions that allow for positive action plans to address issues related to
poverty, poor housing conditions, low literacy, and other challenges that
specific populations in Canada face.

 Current Members include:
Public Health Agency of Canada
Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation
 Alberta Human Resources and Employment
 Saskatchewan Community Resources and Employment
Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services
 Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion
Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing
 Alberta Mental Health Board
Human Resources and Social Development Canada
 City of Calgary
 The Wellesley Institute
**The fee for membership is $10,275 per year for federal and provincial
departments, and $3,475 for non-government organizations.
