CALL FOR VOLUNTEERSHousing Connections is a subsidiary of Toronto Community Housing responsible for maintaining a centralized waiting list for rent-geared-to-income housing and rent supplement administration. The Housing Connections Board of Directors is seeking qualified participants from different professional backgrounds for a Board Advisory Council.  This Council will provide a broad external stakeholder perspective to Housing Connections about its business.Housing Connections is seeking diverse candidates who have an understanding of social housing and social issues (or are willing to learn.)  Knowledge of business would be an asset.Role and Responsibilities of Council Members:* Commit to being a member of the Council and attend pre-scheduled, quarterly meeting dates* Appoint a Board Advisory Council Chare who will communicate to the Board* Advise the Board by providing input on business issues relevant to Housing Connections * Declare conflict of interest where appropriate and maintain confidentiality* Subcommittee work may be required* Total time commitment is estimated to be 10 to 20 hours annually Completed applications and resumes must be received by Housing Connections by no later than Monday October 25, 2004 at 4:00 pm.
