Hi all:

This year The Wellesley Institute has designed and begun offering 17
one-day skill building workshops. They are designed for management staff
and board members of non-profit organizations, including governments
(public health too) and commissions. Priced at only $25 with lunch
included, they are an incredible value to budget conscious non-profit
organizations.
Here is a list of upcoming Capacity Building Workshops that may interest
you, your staff, or colleagues:

CAP 213 - Performance Management Part 2: Conducting Performance
Management Discussions

October 5th, 9:30am-4:30pm
Are you a manager or do you supervise staff? Performance management is
the art of defining work objectives and undertaking the evaluation of
the agreed to work objectives. It is the best practice in managing
knowledge workers, including those in the non-profit sector.  If you
have been conducting staff performance appraisals and want to learn
more, then this workshop is for you!

CAP 116 - Introduction to Information Technology In the Non-Profit
Workplace
October 20th, 9:30am-4:30pm

Have you an IT system in your agency? Is it there only to collects stats
for reporting purposes? Do you wonder whether it could serve other
purposes? Do you want to understand the role of information technology
in the knowledge work of your organization? Come to this workshop to
learn how information systems and technology can make your work more
efficient and effective.

CAP 114 - Board Governance
November 2nd, 9:30am-4:30pm
Are you clear on the roles and responsibilities of board member of
non-profit agencies? This workshop is designed for board members and
executive directors to explore the roles and responsibilities of
non-profit boards

CAP 207 - Getting Your Message Out There: Using Media Effectively To
Achieve Your Objectives
November 9th, 9:30am-4:30pm
Does your organization deal with the media. Do you use communication
strategies to achieve your organization's objectives or to advocate for
social change. If so this is workshop to learn about the communications
channel of the media. How to formulate a media friendly message and
obtain the co-operation of media sources to promote it.

CAP 115 - Introduction to Program Evaluation
November 14th, 9:30am-4:30pm
Governments and funders are all clamoring for evaluation data. You know
your work makes a difference and see in on a day to day basis.  Proving
it is not something you planned when you started the program. In this
workshop learn about how you can build program evaluation into your
program planning and when needed, plan an effective evaluation process
to satisfy the needs of any funder.

CAP 106 Introduction to Financial Management
Dec 5, 9:30am-4:30pm
Are you new to financial management? Are you looking to improve your
budgeting skills, understand financial systems or need to read financial
reports? This is a introductory workshop for staff management and board
members of non-profits
