Er, did anyone notice an anonymous name in the list of "policy experts"
invited to speak? Here's the poster for the event:

If you'd like a copy of the presentation that received the loudest applause,
I'd be happy to provide it.

I know I sound insufferably boastful, but to have been invited to speak on
behalf of WISE was a wonderful and yes, deserved, acknowledgment of our work
and the fact that when it comes to poverty, people living the experience are
as much experts as any academic. I'm still over the moon.

It also happens that a good part of the presentation is pertinent to the
social capital discussion in another thread.

The Green Party seems to be developing an interest in this and in guaranteed
income generally. I read some of Elizabeth May's comments in the paper
today, and they're hosting "A Conversation on Poverty and Guaranteed
Income" in Vancouver on January 21. Registration seems to be free,
appropriately enough.
