FYI: Free conference for students of medicine, law, social work, and public
health. The conference is sponsored by the Medical Legal Partnership for
Children, a program of Boston Medical Center. Details below (and also at
www.MLPforchildren.org/childhealthlaw.aspx).

The Medical-Legal Partnership for Children (MLPC) is a unique partnership
between lawyers and doctors that helps low-income children in Boston and
across the country by ensuring that the legal issues associated with poverty
do not interfere with efforts to promote child health.

Last March, MLPC organized a workshop on medical-legal collaboration for
students in the Boston area. The Child Health and the Law Conference
(CHLC) was extremely successful, with over seventy-five law, medical,
nursing, graduate and undergraduate students in attendance for an evening of
speakers, workshops, discussion and networking.

This year, MLPC has teamed up with a group of medical and law students from
Boston area schools to put together the fourth annual CHLC conference.
Students from Boston University Medical and Law Schools, Suffolk Law School,
Tufts Medical School, Harvard Medical and Law Schools, Northeastern School
of Law and New England School of Law have coordinated the workshop,
materials and speakers.

This year's conference will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 4:30
p.m-8:00 p.m. at Suffolk University Law School, 1st Floor Function Room. We
are pleased to announce that this year's keynote speaker is Dr. Jack
Maypole. Dr. Maypole is assistant professor of Pediatrics at Boston
University School of Medicine and a staff pediatrician at Boston Medical
Center. He is also Director of Pediatrics of South End Community Health
Center.

The conference is free of charge and dinner will be served.

Register for the conference by Friday, April 6, 2007 at
www.MLPforchildren.org/childhealthlaw.aspx
