No indictment of Greta or anyone was intended by my warning email.

The previous email was intended for those that might not have the most
sophisticated computers and software. Even my Lotus Notes with recent
upgrades crashed.

I was passing on information that might be helpful to others, especially
since I was dumb enough to crash the program twice when it gave me the
option to opt out.

Anything complex is going to crash some email programs, especially pages
that require lots of HTML, Javascript, or other things that I do not
understand. Also those who try to bypass the spam detectors use more
complex pages rather than text.

With high volume list serves and multiple list serves it takes much
additional time to load an email with bells and whistles, so it is best to
limit complexity.

Many list serve folks have the most updated programs, but  those without
the resources to update computers each 2 years, those without the latest
memory upgrades, and those without IT people to help out are going to have
problems.

Email is best sent as text.

Anything complex is better sent as a hyperlink to a site. this also saves
internet congestion worldwide.

I was surprised to find that tables or figures went across well without
causing problems.
