Poverty in Ontario: how much longer?

Lives Still in the Balance outlines a deepening crisis of poverty, hunger
and homelessness – and what we can do. Blending first-hand accounts from
people in poverty with analysis from experts like Michael Shapcott, Laurel
Rothman and Armine Yalnizhan, this new book outlines a disturbing story of
poverty amidst plenty in Ontario.

Updating an earlier edition, Lives Still in the Balance tells the real
story about child poverty, hunger, health issues, the working poor and the
housing crisis – and what we can do in response. Edited by Murray MacAdam,
the book is published by the Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition
(ISARC).

“Lives Still in the Balance speaks equally to your heart and your mind.” —
Colin R. Johnson, Anglican Bishop of Toronto
“A great resource for students learning about social policy.” — Linda
Snyder, Renison College
“The best introduction to Ontario’s social problems.” — Bob Luker, George
Brown College
