In this one-week online discussion, health professionals around the world will share their experiences with male and female sterilization in diverse service delivery settings. This forum will be an opportunity to review the latest guidance on sterilization featured in Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers and exchange information and experiences with colleagues who are working to provide high-quality sterilization services.
The discussion will be guided by the interests of the participants, and may include diverse topics such as what sterilization is, counseling about sterilization, advantages and disadvantages of sterilization, and costs of sterilization. A variety of tools and resources on male and female sterilization will be available for easy access in the online Resource Library.
The Global Handbook was prepared through a unique collaboration between Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization (WHO), and over 30 organizations around the world.
This online discussion is sponsored by The ACQUIRE Project, managed by EngenderHealth, Family Health International (FHI), and the INFO Project, based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs in collaboration with the Implementing Best Practices (IBP) in Reproductive Health Initiative and WHO.
