The Steacie server room power upgrade and the Passport York
software/hardware upgrades were both successfully completd.  All services
are functional.  For information about on-going and upcoming outages,

Subject: TWO MAJOR OUTAGES OVER HOLIDAY BREAK: Steacie Server Room -
    Wednesday December 20th, 22:00hrs - Thursday December 21st,
     23:59hrs AND Passport York Services Outage - Friday December 22nd,
     6:00am to Sunday December 24th, 18:00hrs. (fwd)

FIRST OUTAGE: Steacie Server Room

On Wednesday December 20th at 22:00hrs, CNS will start the process to
begin installing upgrades to the power distribution system in the Steacie
server room.  For more details, go to:

It is expected that all services will be available by December 21st,
23:59hrs.

The following services will be available for the duration of the
server room outage:
->Most network services (i.e., the Steacie network core and building
switches, AirYork wireless services plus external connectivity to the
Internet, GTAnet, and ORION)
->Central Email including Lotus Notes (@yorku.ca email addresses)
->Passport York, Central Web, and Account Management
->Support services for Osgoode exams scheduled on December 21st


SECOND OUTAGE: Passport York Services Outage - Friday December 22nd,
6:00am to Sunday December 24th, 18:00hrs.

Access to Passport York authenticated applications and services
will not be available from 6:00am on Friday December 22nd until
18:00hrs on Sunday December 24th.

These applications and services include the following:
ALL Student Record Services and Applications - REM, STAC, etc.,
Manage My Services, NoteBox, Atlas Updater, CEO-Deux, GEO-Deux,
Roaming Access, Class Lists, eReports, AirYork, YorkNet, VPN, EVote,
InfoMart, EForms, PTVNET, Go-Card, Parking Services, off-campus access
to software available from CNS, etc.

Software and hardware upgrades will be performed during this time.
