Young Women in Transition in Toronto: 

A Precarious Existence

SUMMARY

 

Using a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods, a
multi-disciplinary team investigated the fluctuations in housing security
over a one year period in a group of high-risk young women aged 16-20 years.
A sample of 75 street-involved girls were compared with 30 girls still
maintaining Children's Aid Society status to help determine what factors
influenced successful transitions away from the street life.
