Call for Presentations Issued-- Deadline for submissions is October 1,

May 1-2, 2008 has been set for the Institute for Healthcare
Advancement's Seventh Annual Health Literacy Conference. The theme for
the 2008 conference is "Health Literacy in Primary Care: Best Practices
and Skill Building." The IHA Health Literacy Conference Team looks
forward to providing updates on the program, and features on general
session speakers such as the scheduled keynote speaker, on Richard H.
Carmona, M.D.., M.P.H., FACS, the 17th Surgeon General of the United
States (2002-2006).

updated information about the conference, including the Call for
Presentations, Call for Posters, Health Literacy Award nominations,

IHA is seeking plenary (general) session and breakout session
presentations. Plenary session topics should be of a scholarly nature,
report on research, or profile a cutting edge program with regard to
health literacy in primary care. Breakout sessions focus on teaching
specific skills necessary for those who interact with patients with low
literacy skills.
