  The annual PARC Conference has evolved into the PARC Physical Activity
Symposium 2008 to provide an engaging and practical professional development
opportunity for physical activity promoters across Ontario.

  The symposium will present the latest research from expert professionals
and encourage practical application by providing intimate and interactive
group work sessions.
 The symposium is planned by and designed for physical activity promoters
from public health and community health centres, recreation leaders,
physical activity consultants and others interested in physical activity
promotion.

  Join professionals with an interest in and commitment to active healthy
living!

  *Symposium Highlights*

   - Opening Remarks: Minister Margaret Best, Ministry of Health
   Promotion

  The Theme for Day 1 is "The Built & Active Environment" and will feature:

   - Keynote Speaker Dr. Lawrence Frank, Chair in Sustainable
   Transportation, University of British Columbia, who will be speaking on
   "Designing Communities to Support Physical Activity"
   - Panel Discussion & Practical Group Work on "Talking the Walk on the
   Built Environment"

The Theme for Day 2 is "Physical Activity Promotion Across Sectors", and
will feature:

   - Keynote Speaker Dr. Lori E. Teeple, Emergency Physician and award
   winning Professor from the University of Western Ontario Schulich School of
   Medicine and Dentistry, who will speak on "Our Success and the Contributions
   of Others"
   - Interactive Panel Interview on "Physical Activity Players Revealed"
   - Dynamic Workshop Sessions

Throughout the Symposium there will be networking and personal wellness
opportunities including: Physical Activity Promoter Displays, Exhibitor
Marketplace, Energizers, Nutritious Food & Snacks, Guided Trail Walk,
Wellness Corner, and Yoga!
