In April of '86, Twain wrote a lovely letter to a Mrs. Benjamin,
referring both to Emerson - his grammar was like gravel in bread - and
someone named "Dan", in Mrs. Benjamin's family.

Might anyone tell me, please, the identity of "Mrs. Benjamin"? And Dan?
Emerson, mercifully, I know.

Thanks,
Sara
