Jointly issued by the CIHR-Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) and the Public Heatlh Agency of Canada-Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP), the purpose of this Applied Public Health Chairs Program is to strengthen population-level and community-level policy and program intervention research, mentoring and education capacity by supporting public health faculty in Canada. It is expected that this targeted investment will lead to increased national capacity for effective research, mentoring, education, knowledge translation and application of research evidence of relevance to the public health system
