National Collaborating Centres for Public Health 2008 Summer Institute
Knowledge Synthesis, Translation and Exchange (KSTE) in action 

Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the National Collaborating 
Centres' 3rd Annual Summer Institute in beautiful Kelowna, BC from August 
5-7, 2008. 


Summer Institute Objectives: 
Explore what's new and what works in knowledge synthesis, translation, and 
exchange to inform public health policy, practice, and research 
Highlight what's happening in the National Collaborating Centres and other 
organizations involved in KSTE 
Network with innovative thinkers in KSTE and public health 
Provide practical, how-to opportunities related to KSTE 


Here are some highlights of this 3rd Summer institute: 
A fireside chat on the meaning of evidence, moderated by Dr. John Millar ; 

A world café on concrete actions to be taken in Canada following the 
publication of the WHO report on health determinants 
A presentation by Dr. Seygi Aral, of the Centers for Disease Control and 
Prevention (CDC) Atlanta on the gap between programs and sciences in 
public health 
Presentations by Evan Adams, Ian Graham, Michel O'Neill, Maureen Dobbins, 
Janet Joy, Nancy Dubois and Trevor Hancock
