Hello SDOH participants
Would any of you have a referral to a Canadian 'expert' - someone who
could do a presentation and facilitate a discussion re: the rising oil
prices and implications for vulnerable populations (while seniors are
the focus - understood that older adults are not the only ones impacted
upon) - what this winter could look like, driving forces, any vision of
next year? and ... any solutions in progress or ready to go?
briefly - CHNET-Works! hosts Fireside Chats - free pan-Canadian
discussions via telephone and internet - audience is community health
professionals from across Canada - tho there are US participants on
occasion.
We're working on a series of Fireside Chats for Sept- Dec and Jan - June
re: Healthy Aging (housing, age-friendly communities, ..... etc......)
'fyi' - other priority topics: Climate Change and Health (air quality,
water quality, heat, community design....etc!!!! vulnerable
populations.....), Falls Prevention, we're hosting several other topics
as well (e.g. food insecurity)- but the above are the priorities this
fiscal year.
The idea is to link practitioners, researchers and policy/decision
makers - to support discussions, networking for the establishment of
evidence based policies, programs and services.
To share leading edge research and applications - and to support
mobilization.....
Any assistance with referral to names/organizations would be greatly
appreciated.
