The Senate Subcommittee on Population Health, led by the Hon. Wilbert J. Keon and the Hon. Lucie Pépin, is completing a study of the multiple factors and conditions that contribute to the health of Canada's population, i.e. the social determinants of health. The Subcommittee would like your opinion on the federal government's role in the development and implementation of population health policy for Canada. Your comments will be taken into consideration in the Subcommittee's next report, which will contain recommendations on how the federal government can implement pan-Canadian initiatives to reduce health disparities.

The Subcommittee has issued four reports on the multiple factors and conditions that contribute to the health of Canada's population.
These reports are available at http://senatesenat.ca/health-sante.asp under "Reports". It is soliciting opinions on the issues and options presented, to help it craft its final recommendations. Please note that the deadline for submissions is June 30, 2008.

You may also find this website about an American initiative on the subject to be of interest: http://www.unnaturalcauses.org/about_the_series.php

Please share your views on this important issue before June 30, 2008 by sending your comments to Barbara Reynolds, Clerk of the Senate Subcommittee on Population Health at [log in to unmask] or by mail at Committees Directorate, Senate of Canada, 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0A4.

Vous invite à partager votre opinion sur le sujet avec le Sous-comité afin de l'aider à élaborer ses recommendations finales. Veuillez noter la date d'échéance du 30 juin prochain pour la remise de vos commentaires.
