On behalf of the Interagency Youth Working Group (IYWG), FHI 360 is hosting an online forum, Lives at Stake: Meeting the Needs of Young People Most at Risk of HIV. The forum, which will be open from July 26 through July 28, will focus on young people within the populations most at risk of HIV: men who have sex with men (MSM), people who sell sex, and people who inject drugs. Facilitated by Bruce Dick, Margaret Sheehan (UNICEF), Kent Klindera (amfAR), Anita Krug (Youth R.I.S.E.), and Emma Braithwaite (Nossal Institute for Global Health), the forum will provide participants an opportunity to discuss challenges of and strategies for meeting the needs of most-at-risk young people, and to ask questions about Young People Most at Risk of HIV<http://www.iywg.org/sites/default/files/Young_Most_Risk.pdf>, a meeting report and discussion paper from the IYWG, USAID, the UNAIDS Inter-Agency Task Team on HIV and Young People, and FHI 360. A summary of this report is available in the accompanying issue of YouthLens, Young People Most at Risk for HIV/AIDS<http://www.iywg.org/sites/default/files/YL33e.pdf>. An e-learning course on young people most at risk of HIV is forthcoming from USAID.
You can now submit questions and start sharing your experiences with colleagues working with young people most at risk of HIV. Just click here<http://www.iywg.org/youth/forum/young_people_most_at_risk_of_HIV> to get started. The forum will officially begin with postings and responses from the facilitators at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on July 26, and end at 5 PM EST on July 28.
While this forum is focused on addressing the needs of young men who have sex with men, young people who sell sex, and young people who inject drugs, we welcome any organizations and professionals with a focus on youth reproductive and sexual health, HIV prevention among young people, or risk reduction and harm reduction programs for young people.
