Hello all,
Strategic voting is a bit of a crap shoot. In the last election, Many people voted Liberal in my riding, instead of New Democratic Party (even traditional NDP supporters), believing at the time that the liberal candidate had the best chance of unseating Peter MacKay (Conservative, Central Nova in Nova Scotia). The result was that the Liberals trailed at third and the NDP was a strong second. This website is telling me to vote for Elizabeth May (Green) this time in Central Nova. Only a crystal ball will make strategic voting work. The issues and the populace are just too complex. Meanwhile, I'll continue to vote according to the party with the best social justice policy track record.
Elizabeth

Subject: [SDOH] Vote smart to stop a Harper majority

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE AS WIDELY AS YOU CAN

This website, http://www.voteforenvironment.ca/, is an effective tool for those who are disturbed about the likelihood of a Harper majority obtained with a minority of the votes. It is important to understand that the outcome of the election will be decided in a small number of swing ridings where there is a race between a Conservative and one of the opposition parties. The website facilitates strategic voting only in those particular ridings where it can make a difference to stop Harper. The website expresses no preference in ridings where the race does not involve a Conservative, or where there is no race (the seat is safe for one of the candidates). Please go the website and check the current projections and polling for your own riding. Make sure you vote. Most importantly, please forward this email to as many people as you can.
