TO ALL: This may sound a bit mercenary, however I am in search of video
footage
DVD,or VHS or I guess any related file format) of either the CBS segment
about
the Hartford Residence or of the inside of the residence from any other
source.
The CBS footage reflects the changes in the new "greenhouse/sun room with
the fountain
addition" and some other minor changes I saw.. The reason for this is
perhaps a bit
strange. I have toured the house several times and feel a strange but
welcome presence
there. This is probably something I am inventing or hallucinating for my own
purposes but
it is real to me just the same. I ( nowadays seldom) do a one man Twain
presentation.
When in the house I just feel the role fall onto me like a mantle or an
aura. I cannot
explain this, it just happens and is the best"preparation" for the role I
have ever
experienced. Not being Hal Holbrook, I need all the help I can get. I have
asked
permission to film at the house but been denied. I tried recording the CBS
segment
but my equipment( or my old brain) failed and I did not get it. I know I can
get it from
CBS for $30 or so and probably will probably end up doing that. I just
thought, being
a pauper and not a prince, that I might find alternate resources among
this valued
group....or perhaps a lesser price for a small segment. Of course any other
sources or
longer segments would be most welcome. I particularly liked the CBS segment
because it
has the elusive Edison film clip of the man himself strolling in Elmira, I
believe.
This rather embarrassing plea is testimony to how much I would like to
acquire some
video footage. So, at the same time I apologize and plead to this impressive
group.
I am and will remain an avid follower of the dialog available here.

Thank you all for hearing me.
