Dear CLICK4HP colleagues,
I don't recall having seen much publicity in this list about the IUHPE 18th World Conference on Health Promotion and Health Education - "Valuing diversity, Re-shaping Power: Exploring pathways for health and wellbeing" (Melbourne, Australia, 26-30 April 2004.)
Abstract submissions are now sought for the poster or oral presentation of a paper, or the organisation of an entire session or workshop. Abstract submission closes on 31 October 2003. From the website, FYI:

"Health2004 in Melbourne will assess the current status of health promotion across the world and identify practical ways to move forward. The voices of Indigenous and marginalised peoples whose health is seriously compromised by their living conditions will be given particular attention.
To these ends, the main themes of the Conference will be:

1.. Maintaining diversity in a global culture for health and wellbeing
2.. Shifting the balance of power – new forms of governance and participation for better health
3.. Vision, purpose and leadership – exploring different pathways to health
a.. Setting an agenda for promoting Indigenous health
b.. Addressing stress from civil dislocation, unemployment and cultural change
c.. Restoring the balance between environment, health and spirituality."
"The program will encourage all delegates to actively engage in a combination of plenaries, policy forums, symposiums, workshops, skill development and discussion sessions, abstract-driven sessions and formal and informal networking. The program will also include accredited Continuing Education programs for health educators, nurses and physicians.
The Program for Health2004 will be in part developed from papers submitted to the conference between 1 May and 1 November, 2003. Up to 1500 papers are expected. Papers will be presented in Oral Abstract Sessions, moderated Oral Poster Sessions, and by Poster. Abstract submissions can be submitted on line here."

Looking forward to seeing a good number of CLICK4HP members in Melbourne!
