The Canadian Healthcare Association (CHA) is the federation of provincial
and territorial hospital and health organizations across Canada.  Through
its members, CHA represents a broad continuum of services provided through
regional health authorities, hospitals, facilities and agencies that are
governed by trustees who act in the public interest.

that meet the needs of Canadians and is committed to a publicly funded
health system that provides access to a continuum of comparable health
services throughout Canada.

seeking a:



*Health Policy Analyst*



The Canadian Healthcare Association (CHA) invites applications for the
position of Health Policy Analyst to support the policy development and
advocacy activities of the Association. Major responsibilities of this
position include:  monitoring trends and issues; preparing and/or reviewing
and revising CHA policy positions; managing specific projects; providing
consultation, information, liaison with key stakeholders and CHA members.



Responsibilities will include:

   - supporting Board decision-making by identifying, analyzing and
   reporting on health system issues;
   - writing reports, policy briefs and other documentation regarding key
   issues;
   - establishing and maintaining effective relations with the Board and
   member organizations, governments, and other groups at national levels;
   - representing the association's positions at external meetings and
   functions;
   - managing specific projects and files; and
   - researching, writing of reports, background papers, correspondence
   in response to Board requests or in preparation for meetings.

The Health Policy Analyst will have:

   - a Masters degree in either Health Administration, Public
   Administration, Humanities, History or equivalent;
   - at least three years experience in policy, research and/or service
   delivery in the health sector;
   - proven project and time management skills;
   - a knowledge of the broad continuum of health services; and
   - experience with board governed organizations.

The successful candidate will also:

   - have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
   - have strong analytical and synthesis skills as well as time
   management skills;
   - be highly organized with a very high level of attention to detail;
   - possess the ability to manage competing priorities and work
   independently;
   - possess superior interpersonal skills and ability to work as a
   member of a team; and
   - bilingualism is desirable.

The salary range for this position is from $49,000 to $59,041, depending on
the qualifications and experience of the individual hired.



This is a full-time permanent position.  CHA offers a competitive
compensation and benefits package.
