Call for Letters of Intent - New Initiative

Global Health Research Initiative Teasdale-Corti Team Grants (a part of the 
Teasdale-Corti Global Health Research Partnership Program)
An Initiative of the International Development Research Centre and the 
Canadian Institutes of Health Research, in collaboration with the Canadian 
International Development Agency and Health Canada

Summary
The Global Health Research Initiative (GHRI), a partnership among the 
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Canadian Institutes of 
Health Research (CIHR), Health Canada (HC) and the International 
Development Research Centre (IDRC), invites letters of intent from teams 
composed of Canadian and low and middle-income country (LMIC) researchers 
and research users (e.g. policy makers, practitioners, civil society 
organizations and community members), interested in developing innovative 
multi-year programs that combine applied research, knowledge translation 
and capacity building to solve pressing health problems in LMICs. The 
Teasdale-Corti Team Grants are part of a collaborative new health program 
of work developed by the GHRI. The initial round will provide at least $10 
million (Canadian  CA) over four years. Each grant can be worth up to a 
total of CA $1.6 million over a four year period.

The application process includes two stages:
1) Letters of Intent (LOIs) and
2) Full Proposals. Letters of Intent will undergo competitive peer review 
and successful applicants will be invited to submit full proposals.

Sommaire
L’Initiative de recherche en santé mondiale (IRSM), un partenariat entre 
l’Agence canadienne de développement international (ACDI), les Instituts de 
recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC), Santé Canada (SC) et le Centre de 
recherches pour le développement international (CRDI), sollicite des 
déclarations d’intention de la part d’équipes composées de chercheurs et 
d’utilisateurs de la recherche (par ex. responsables des politiques, 
praticiens, organisations de la société civile, et membres de la 
communauté) canadiens et de pays a faible revenu et à revenu intermédiaire 
(PFR-PRI), désireux de créer des programmes novateurs pluriannuels alliant 
la recherche appliquée, l’application des connaissances et le renforcement 
des compétences pour résoudre des problèmes de santé urgents dans les 
PFR-PRI. Les subventions d’équipe Teasdale-Corti font partie d’un nouveau 
programme coopératif de santé développé par l’IRSM. La première phase 
affectera au moins une somme de 10 million de dollars canadiens (CAD) sur 
quatre ans.

Le processus d’application comprend deux étapes:
1) Déclarations d’intention et
2) Proposition détaillée. Les déclarations d’intention seront soumises à 
des examens concurrentiels par les pairs, et les candidats retenus seront 
invités à soumettre des propositions détaillées.
