YouthNet, a program coordinated by Family Health International, is pleased
to announce the availability of three new resources.
1.      My Changing Body, Fertility Awareness for Young People, is a
training manual developed by Family Health International and the Institute
for Reproductive Health of Georgetown University to teach girls and boys
ages 10 to 14 years about the changes they experience as they approach
puberty. It also seeks to help youth take good care of their bodies, become
more self-confident, and gain positive self-images. Designed for adults who
regularly teach human development and fertility to youth in schools, clubs,
or community centers, the interactive manual can be used as a stand-alone
curriculum or as a supplement to other reproductive health training

2.      A report of the technical meeting "HIV Prevention for Young People
in Developing Countries," sponsored by the USAID Office of HIV/AIDS, the
Institute for Youth Development, and Family Health International/YouthNet,
is now available. This meeting examined patterns of HIV prevalence and
high-risk behaviors among youth, discussed what is known about preventing
high-risk behaviors, shared strategies for HIV prevention among young
people, and described case studies of efforts to reduce HIV prevalence. You

3.      Youth InfoNet No. 3 has been updated! This issue features abstracts
of new scientific information pertaining to reproductive health and HIV
issues for youth that were presented at the American Public Health
Association's annual meeting in November 2003. The Web version of this
newsletter has been updated so that each abstract title now links to a
detailed page on the APHA Web site, providing extras such as author contact
