To get online interactive maps working for the Ryan's Well foundation
you might try contacting the people at Google. They have a number of
online services that might cover what you need, and at a fraction of
the costs (and of ongoing headaches) of trying to run such an
application on your own server.
Start at: http://earth.google.com/ and put your needs on the table for
them to respond to.
