2. Maximizing Resources to Meet Client Needs: Evaluation of a Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Care and Support Model in India
In response to the need for comprehensive services, YRG CARE, a Chennai-based NGO, instituted an integrated continuum of care and support services for PLHA and their families. To examine the benefits and feasibility of service delivery, the Horizons Program, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, and YRG CARE undertook a multifaceted operations research study. This report describes findings from an assessment of the current YRG CARE model, estimates the economic impact of HIV/AIDS on clients and households receiving care and treatment, and examines the sustainability of the YRG CARE model by analyzing costs of providing services and its revenue-generating capacity.
