Hi! I'm back again! Everyone is being so helpful about my queries that I'
ve come back for more! Seriously, you guys are great; thank you!

Laura Lomas, who has recently published a book on Jose Marti, the Cuban
nationalist, tells me that Marti loved A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's
Court, and that he sent a copy to a friend's son in Mexico, right after the
book was published.

My question is, does anyone know if Twain was familiar with Marti? Marti
lived in New York from 1882-1895, although he also traveled extensively duri
ng that period. He was a journalist, widely published, and an acute
observer of life in the U.S. I'd be interested to know if Twain was at all
aware
of him.

Thanks much! --s
