There are some issues with the new DNS/DHCP implementation that are
ongoing at the current time.
NetOps is working with the vendor to resolve them.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
**********************************************************************
For properly configured clients, there will not be a perceptible DNS
outage - regardless of location (on/off Campus).
Clients relying on DHCP, in the worst-case scenario, may experience an
outage of up to four hours. This affects DHCP clients dependent upon
York's implementation of the service. Therefore, it'll be largely
on-Campus clients that will be affected most directly.

Subject: DNS/DHCP Service Interruptions: Sunday June 27th, 00:01 to 04:00.
Beginning just after midnight on Sunday June 27th, UIT will replace its
longstanding IP address and Domain Name System management infrastructure
(NetID) with a new system recently purchased from BlueCat Networks.
Connections from off campus to York's DNS servers and to all internal
DHCP servers, will experience a series of brief interruptions during the
change window.
*** Members of the York University community are advised to
take appropriate precautions, particularly with automated/scheduled
computational jobs which may normally run during this interval. ***
