Seeking Applicants for:

Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor, Health Promotion
School of Population Health
Vacancy Number: 15620 (Applications close 16 August 2013)

The School of Population Health, based on the University of Auckland
Tamaki Innovation site, is seeking a suitably qualified and
experienced person to fill this exciting position in Health
Promotion.  The person we are looking for will be a senior academic
who will advance health promotion within the School and the sector.
This position will involve working alongside academics, professionals
and community groups.

Applicants need to demonstrate abilities in research and teaching at
both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A core responsibility of
the position will be oversight and participation in undergraduate and
postgraduate health promotion teaching. Duties will also include
postgraduate research supervision.

Qualifications should include a PhD as well as a track record that
includes publications involving research with an applied health
promotion focus. A background in work with communities or in policy
settings would be an advantage along with a background relevant to
one of the current strengths within the School that include:

. Empowerment based health promotion practice
. Community development and advocacy
. Development of healthy public policy
. Understanding Maori approaches to health promotion
. Primary health applications
. Pacific community capacity building
. The determinants of health at a local and global level.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
