I've been there for many a press event over the years, and I'm always reminded of the verdict delivered by George S. Kaufman (who called Twain his idol) after touring the new estate built by his frequent collaborator Moss Hart: "This is what God would have done if only he had the money."

ps: if you;ve never visited the Huntington I highly recommend it, it's one
of the coolest places in all of southern Cal!  I was there once, years ago,
working on letters of HB Stowe; do not know that they have much in the way
of Twain stuff.
