Greetings! This hove across my bow at the Mark Twain House -- yet another British Twain-related site in danger (not far from Dollis Hill House). There's info on MT's opening it in 1900 at http://www.brent-heritage.co.uk/Kensal_Rise_Library.htm.

Subject: Kensal Rise Library
I wondered whether you would be willing to support the campaign to save Kensal Rise Library, in north-west London, England. The library was opened by Mark Twain in 1900 and was built on land donated by All Souls College, Oxford, on condition that the land be used for a free public library. The local council are now threatening to close it in April 2011 and we are campaigning to keep it. If you are able to support us there is a facebook group Save Kensal Rise Library! and a petition at
Many thanks for your time.
