You might also write to the Morgan Library in NYC.  They had a fantastic show on the late Twain last winter, with a lot of original prints from Following the Equator.  They may have photos of T in India.  --skh

There are several illustrations/photos which depict MT in India, in the
India chapters of FOLLOWING THE EQUATOR, 1st edition.  A nice, affordable
facsimile is available from Dover; and of course the Oxford edition also has
those graphics reproduced.
