Agency Title: Local Health Integration Network (LHIN)
Position Title: Director – part-time
Description: The Government of Ontario seeks candidates to be Directors for each of the 14 Local Health Integration Networks (“LHINs”) across the province. Local Health Integration Networks are a key component of Ontario’s healthcare transformation agenda – the Government’s vision is that these local community-based organizations will develop, over a period of time, a unique mandate to support local capacity to plan, coordinate and integrate the delivery of care at the community level and fund and allocate resources within their defined geographic areas. As a member of the Board of Directors, a Director is responsible for directing the affairs of the LHIN in accordance with its constituting documents, LHIN’s By-laws, its Memorandum of Understanding with the Minister, its approved Business and Strategic Plans, applicable legislation, and the Government policies established and communicated by the Minister.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will have the following qualifications: Senior-level executive experience and prior directorships of large complex organizations in the public or private sectors; Known as a leader in his or her profession, or in volunteer or other capacities; Proven track record of navigating nascent organizations and senior management teams through change and transition; Experience and expertise in one or more of finance, accounting, law, human resources strategy, communications, information management, public and voluntary sector governance and performance management; Understanding of local community health issues, priorities and needs within the context of the broader trends in health care policy; Posses existing senior relationships with local municipalities and social services, health care, education, housing, justice and volunteer organizations in the geographic location of the LHINs; Ability to develop, enhance and maintain strategic relationships with community organizations, local and provincial governments, health service providers and others in the geographic area of the LHIN; Reside in the geographic region of the LHIN or be willing to relocate to the region. Proficiency in English and French an asset.
Terms: Directors are appointed by Order-In-Council for a term subject to renewal
