There is a fascinating new article on Barb's Schmidt's web site
http://www.twainquotes.com/ regarding the true authorship of a story
attributed to Mark Twain for 140 years. Leslie Myrick recently located the
first printing of the piece. Barb has traced the story to its historical
source and also profiles the humorist who adapted the tale that was long
credited to Twain.

I have added correction notes to the volumes on my shelves that contain the
"Twain" piece. Now for a challenge: is there any evidence that Twain ever
denied writing the story or was even aware of it?
