The Communications Handbook for Clinical Trials is now online!
FHI 360 and AVAC are happy to announce that an online version of the Communications Handbook for Clinical Trials is available at: communications4clintrials.org<http://communications4clintrials.org/>.
Since the Microbicides Media and Communications Initiative published the handbook with support from USAID in 2010, it has been used by thousands of people in at least 33 countries to strengthen communication about research on HIV prevention and other critical public health questions.
With nine easy-to-navigate chapters plus videos, slide presentations, and other new resources, the online handbook provides practical guidance to clinical trial staff and research partners on how to anticipate and respond to the special communication challenges posed by the conduct of clinical research.
Materials that research sites can adapt for use in their communications planning and implementation are also included. Among these are sample communications plans, templates and checklists for communications and issues management, and tips and techniques on how to communicate effectively with the media. Look for new case studies to be added to the handbook in the coming months.
Your feedback on how the handbook is being used and your ideas for enhancing it are always welcome. Please send your comments to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
