want to find online health information quickly and efficiently?

 

If you
think Google is fast, free & friendly, you’re not alone.  But Google is not the only search tool
available. In this workshop, you will learn about FREE and fee-based research
databases in the health sciences...

learn how to identify tools to help you find what you need, when you need it

the deal with social technologies?

about blogs, wikis and feeds used in consumer health, self-management and
patient collaboration

 

Examples:

 

- Google
Health Support Groups are online communities that provide mutual and self-help
for patients and caregivers.

 

- There
are a variety of suitable social web tools useful for communicating with
clients and colleagues like IM and chat

 

- Wikis
are online spaces for sharing ideas, having discussions, uploading files (e.g.,
Word, PowerPoint, etc) and embedding other applications (e.g., Facebook) and
multimedia files (e.g., Youtube videos)
