While working on my videos of Tom Sawyer chapters I noticed that the
fence Tom hops over, escaping Aunt Polly in the first chapter, is not
the same fence he is shown whitewashing in the second.  Also, the white
washed fence does not appear to be 9 feet high as the text indicates.
These are the illustrations in The Oxford Mark Twain volume.  The first
fence appears to be the correct fence.  Ooops.
