I'm writing to share a new technical publication from Pathfinder International: Strengthening the Continuum of Care for Fistula Prevention and Repair in Ethiopia: http://www.pathfinder.org/publications-tools/fistula-prevention-repair-ethiopia.html?utm_source=Techpub&utm_medium=Otherlists&utm_campaign=IFHPFistula. This technical brief explores the Integrated Family Health Program's (IFHP) approach to fistula prevention and repair. Recognizing a gap in community-based interventions for preventing fistula, identifying cases, and supporting survivors, IFHP partnered with the Ministry of Women, Children, and Youth Affairs, health extension workers, local women's associations, and its health system counterparts to bundle existing clinical services into a continuum of care. This brief highlights implementation experience, lessons learned, and next steps.
IFHP is jointly implemented by Pathfinder International and JSI. The program is supported by the USAID-funded Evidence to Action Project, which, like IFHP, is led by Pathfinder International.
