We are pleased to inform you of a new article, co-authored by Pathfinder, UNFPA, and Expandnet, entitled "Scale Up of Adolescent-Friendly Contraceptive Services: Lessons from a 5 Country Comparative Analysis" published as part of the Journal of AIDS Supplement, "Ending HIV and AIDS in Adolescents: Programmatic and Implementation Science Priorities". The article retrospectively analyzes the scale up of adolescent-friendly contraceptive services in Mozambique, Ethiopia, Ghana, Tanzania, and Vietnam and draws lessons learned to inform implementation and sustainable scale up of HIV and other services for adolescents. The online version of the JAIDS Supplement is available electronically at: http://journals.lww.com/jaids/toc/2014/07011. Read more about Pathfinder's adolescent work here<http://www.pathfinder.org/our-work/focus-areas/adolescents-youth/>.

The series of articles included in the Journal of AIDS Supplement has been developed under the leadership of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) in collaboration with multiple technical leaders in the area of adolescent programming. The series presents a collection of reviews on adolescents examining current evidence and experience from programmes to highlight how to improve HIV-specific outcomes. Findings in the papers were presented in a global technical consultation on adolescents and HIV convened by UNICEF and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London in July 2013. This collection of articles highlights the complexity of the adolescent HIV epidemic. Together, the articles illustrate the opportunities to improve response through effective scale up of interventions that address biological, economic, social and cultural determinants of HIV risk and vulnerability in adolescents.

Apologies for cross-posting!
