The Atlantic Summer Institute is a bilingual conference and learning institute held in Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island bi-annually. It seeks to create positive social change in Canada and attracts
participants from across the country to learn and work together to build communities that are safe,
healthy and sustainable. Engaging men and women, Francophone, Anglophone and Aboriginal
communities, the ASI supports collaboration across sectors and regions, and between cultures and
generations.

Two curriculum workshops are featured this year: “Gender, Diversity and Community Leadership” and
“Building and Using Evidence for Social Justice”. Program highlights also include a keynote speech by
Senator Art Eggleton, a plenary on indigenous governance, a social circus, as well as a storytelling
circle on advocacy and social justice.

The ASI provides its participants with valuable opportunities to learn, make connections, and increase
engagement in their communities. The ASI welcomes individuals and organizations working with
creative, collaborative practices, as well as those who are looking to learn and be inspired to action!

Accommodations :

A limited number of rooms are available on-site at Glendenning Hall on the Holland College campus.
These are at a very reasonable rate - we encourage you to book a room, as PEI 2014 celebrations are
attracting many tourists to the Island this summer. You won’t find rates like this anywhere else! The
ASI block of rooms is only guaranteed until July 3rd. Register and book early to avoid disappointment!
