Hello Sandra,

Our primary population is Ontario but we are open to outside provinces as the curriculum is accessible to all online.

Thanks for your question!

Is this open to provinces outside of Ontario?
Sandra

[cid:image002.png@01D0930D.1E67C740]Hello and good afternoon,

I am contacting you today from Women's College Research Institute in reference to a valuable and interactive online curriculum entitled; Responding to Domestic Violence in Clinical Settings. This is an evidence-based, competency-driven course that prepares Health Care Providers and their allies to better respond to women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.

Updated this past summer, the program was developed by an expert panel chaired by Dr. Robin Mason (Research Scientist at Women’s College Research Institute) and Dr. Brian Schwartz (Director of the Sunnybrook-Osler Centre for Prehospital Care/Chief, Emergency Preparedness for Public Health Ontario). The project includes 17 interactive modules, housed in three “volumes” designed for different health care settings including:

· Emergency departments

· Family practices

· Perinatal clinics.
It has been created using a video-gaming platform, case presentations and animated patient avatars to best engage users. The curriculum is accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The program is available in English and French. I invite you to visit http://dveducation.ca/dvcs/welcome.php and explore this innovative learning tool. Registration is free. I also encourage you to share/forward this link with your fellow colleagues in order to help improve patient care across on Ontario and address the pervasiveness of and harm caused by intimate partner violence.

This project is funded by the Province of Ontario.

Thanks you for your time and please do not hesitate to e-mail me if you have any further questions.

Best,

-Maeve
