There has to be a certain irony in the fact that the Mark Twain House is
in financial trouble with the Webster Bank.  Edith Wharton's house known
as "The Mount" is also in trouble, according to a recent story in the
New Yorker.  For Twain, its memorial ought to ask for contributions from
Twain scholars and all those who subscribe to the Mark Twain Forum.
