The Community Health Centre GTA Health Promotion Network invites you to:
Food for Change: Exploring Food Security Solutions in GTA
on November 19, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the The 519.
The goal of this Food Security forum is to inform
and advise the Health Promotion Network,
Community Health Centres, allied professionals
and community partner agencies on potential
strategies and programming for the purposes of
advancing the Food Security agenda in the GTA.
That morning, leaders in Food Security will be
sharing their experience and wisdom in the
critical issue of food (in)security in the GTA. Speakers include:
Wayne Roberts – Toronto Food Policy Council
Nick Saul – The Stop Community Food Centre
Anan Lololi – AfriCan Foodbasket
Catherine Spence – Physician with the
Homeless/Harm Reduction Team Queen West Community Health Centre
Valerie Tarasuk – Graduate Coordinator,
University of Toronto, Department of Nutritional Sciences.
From 1:30-4:30 in a closed session, Health
Promoters with, or wanting to participate in, the
Health Promotion Network will workshop to develop
the start of a Network action plan based on the
lessons from the morning conference. All Health
Promoters and Community Health Workers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The CHC Health Promotion Network is a group of
health promoters working together to improve the
health of individuals and communities in the
Greater Toronto Area. Our aim is to form a
united voice in advocating for the vulnerable and
marginalized populations of our communities.
